Cargo carrier's a great idea to get more room out of your Rav 4 if you don't want to mess with a cargo box on top, or if you just wanna make more leg room for everybody on a longer trip, you can move some of that gear out here, strap it down, and be on your way. Another cool thing is that if you want messy or dirty gear, you can put it, throw it on here, and not bring that mess inside the Rav 4, you can just spray this off and be done with it. Now, this is gonna be a lightweight aluminum cargo carrier, so that means it's gonna be easy to put in the hitch or take out and store in your garage. Just because it's aluminum though, doesn't mean it's not heavy duty, it can still handle up to 500 pounds, so you can still load up your gear and not worry about it. more

If you're transporting some larger items, or maybe some heavy items that might have some mud, sand, water, things like that that you don't wanna keep in the cab or the trunk of your vehicle, a hitch carrier like this might be a good option for you. This carrier is rated to hold a weight capacity of up to 500 pounds. It only weighs 25 pounds, so to get all that weight capacity out of there is nice. The construction is steel with a black powder coat finish, so it should hold up pretty well to weather and corrosion. more

Hey, it's Ethan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Flint Hill Goods 60 by 22-inch Hitch Cargo Carrier on the back of our 2017 Toyota RAV4. You might wanna use something like this in the event that you maybe don't have enough storage space in the hatch or you're just storing or carrying some items that might be a little bit dirty, sandy, muddy, wet, anything that you don't wanna keep inside the vehicle, this cargo carrier is a great way to extend that storage space and get a little bit more out of it. The carrier is made of aluminum so it's still pretty lightweight. It's not gonna add a ton of pounds to your tongue weight, so that's a nice feature. Additionally, you can see that there are a bunch of gaps in the middle where things could fall through, like just the sand and the mud, not specifically your items 'cause this is so close enough that most of those should be fine. more

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we'll be taking a look at how the Flint Hill Goods Steel Cargo Carrier fits on the 2017 Toyota RAV4. This is gonna be a compact steel cargo carrier, great if you have limited space inside of your shed or your garage, but you still need to add extra cargo space to your vehicle. So this will go right into the hitch of your RAV4, and it's gonna be helpful if you have larger or dirtier items that you don't want dirtying up the interior of your vehicle. So taking a look at how this fits on the RAV4, this is gonna be very compact. So for our measurement, it's gonna be about 53 1/4 by 19 3/4 inches, easy to store in your shed, but when you have it on your car, it will still take up a little bit of space. So I like to measure from the bumper going out, we have it at about 2 feet or 24 inches. more

And what's pretty cool about this one is this actually comes with a lot of different options for tying down things. And it has a special thing for your forked bike mounts, for if you want to bring a bike with you on your trip.Okay, so this is actually slightly longer than the usual cargo carrier. Now, this cargo carrier is pretty useful for when you're going to the beach and you have sand and everything, so you just want to put there, you're hiking, you want to put your muddy stuff here, everything you don't want in your car can go in here.Okay. So for this cargo carrier, it's 24 by six feet, which is basically actually as long as I am tall and it has a 500 pound weight capacity. So it has this mesh bottom, which I actually prefer because it's small enough so things don't really fall out, but it's really easy just to hose off after a muddy or a sandy day. So it's easy to clean and we have here a little reflector tape so when you're driving on the road, that helps with safety as well.All right. So let's see how deep this cargo carrier is. more

Now this cargo carrier can be extremely useful for when you have muddy things from hiking or your drink coolers that are dripping everywhere, or even like I like to travel, all the extra luggage I have can go on here so that there's more legroom inside.You can use this for a lot of things. And there's a lot of space, let's look at the dimensions here. This is a 24 by 60 cargo carrier, so you can see there's a lot of space here, and it has wire mesh which I appreciate, especially when you're talking about the muddy hiking items or things that might drip around because it will go straight through this wire mesh. more

Right now we have the etrailer aluminum cargo carrier loaded up. Now let's just go over some features of it for you guys, see how it's going to interact with your RAV4.To start, I want to point out having an aluminum cargo carrier is a great advantage. You're taking the amount of ton weight added to your vehicle and you're cutting it out by a lot, and when you compare it to a steel folding cargo carrier, so you're not going to have as much weight back there when it's empty and not as much weight even when it's filled up. You're still going to have a 500 pound weight capacity, which is right in line with a lot of other cargo carriers we carry, so you're not really sacrificing too much there.As far as storage space for it, we'll measure inside rail to inside rail. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2015 Toyota Rav4, we're going to be test fitting the 20 by 48 Curt cargo carrier for both 1 1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches, part number C18110. Now, this has a carrying capacity of 300 pounds. It has this nice mesh floor which makes it easier to clean and then all the way around the border of the cargo carrier you have these points, and those are going to be tie downs for either your ratcheting straps, your bungee cords, whatever you use to tighten down the gear. Now, I'd like to go ahead and give you some measurements. Measuring from the edge of the bumper up to our outer edge here, we've added about 27 1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. For our ground clearance at the bottom of this bolt here, we're right at about 13 inches. Our closest point is going to be about 7 1/2 inches. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on this 2016 Toyota Rav4 we're going to be test fitting the 23 X 60 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier, part number CC-100. This cargo carrier has a carrying capacity of 500 pounds and has this mesh floor at the bottom, which makes it easy to clean. Around the borders of the cargo carrier we have these points here, which you can use as tie-down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. Also at the front, we have these 3 smaller holes here on each side, which you can use to attach either lights or reflectors. We also have 2 points up here, so just in case your cargo's going to block off your license plate you can actually relocate it to down here. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. Starting from the bumper to this outer edge here, we've added about 27.5 inches. more

It's made from a strong durable aluminum and has tie-down points at both the front and the rear of the cargo carrier, which you can use for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements. Measuring from the bumper to our outer edge here, we've added about 27-1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. Our ground clearance is going to be about 10 inches, and our closest point right here is going to be about 5 inches. Now, the exhaust is going to be on the passenger side and it's going to face down away from the actual cargo carrier itself. more

Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2016 Toyota RAV 4, we are going to be test fitting the 23 X 47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier, part number M2205. This has a 450 pound carrying capacity and with the walls themselves, which measure up to about 22 inches from the base here, it is going to provide plenty of protection for your gear as you travel down the road. Now these walls do fold down if you need to. You pull the pins on all four corners like so. Then you can start folding them in. Now before we get the final two walls in, I am going to go ahead and grab the strap that comes with it and actually run that under. This is going to be a cam buckle strap that will hold everything together. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4 c18151- Video
Today on this 2016 Toyota Rav 4, we're going to be test fitting the 20 X 16 Curt Cargo Carrier part number C18151. This cargo carrier has a 500lbs carrying capacity and it has a mesh flow, which makes it easy to clean. It also has this rail all the way around the carrier, which you can use as a tie down port for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. The cargo carrier in this position measuring from the bumper to the outer rail here, we've added about 33 1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. The ground clearance is going to be about 10 1/2 inches. Then our closest point on the inner rail, that's going to be about 12 1/2 inches. The exhaust is going to be on the passenger side and faces down away from the cargo carrier, it's also about 20 inches or so away from the cargo carrier itself, so I wouldn't worry to much about any heat sensitive material going into the actual cargo carrier itself. Now with nothing in the cargo carrier, of course, we can actually have access to our rear hatch with no problems. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Toyota RAV4 c18150- Video
Today on this 2016 Toyota Rav 4, we're going to be test fitting the 20 x 60 Curt Cargo Carrier part number C18150. This has a 500 pound carrying capacity. Has a mesh floor which makes it easy to clean, and also has a rail system all the way around the cargo carrier, which you can use as a tie down point for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. Measuring from the bumper to the outer rail, we've added about 28 1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. For ground clearance to this point here, it's about 12 or 12 and 3/4 inches, excuse me. more

Today with this 2016 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be taking a look at the twenty by forty-eight Curt Cargo Carrier. Part number C18110. This has a carrying capacity of three hundred pounds. It has this mesh floor which makes it easy to clean. It also has these tie-down points here all the way around the cargo carrier for either your wraps, traps, or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. Measuring from the bumper to the outer edge, we've added about twenty-seven inches to the rear of the vehicle. Our ground clearance to the end of this bolt here is going to be about thirteen inches. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2010 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2010 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be taking a look a the Stromberg Carlson 23 x 60 Cargo Carrier, Part Number CC-100. This cargo carrier has a nice expanded metal bottom, so you can usually wash it off, then keep all your dirt and debris to fall through. It's got a three inch side rail with small nice holes drilled in it for your tie down points. It's got a black powder coat finish to help with rust and corrosion. Let's give you some measurements to help you in your decision. At our lowest point our ground clearance is going to be about 9 1/2" to the bottom of the bolt that comes through here. The closest point of contact if you we're to slide all the way into your receiver it's going to be about 8 inches. Overall we've added 28" to the length our vehicle. You want to keep in mind that the RAV4 has a passenger side exhaust that exits straight back, which is about 12 1/2" away. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2010 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2010 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be taking a look at the Max Tow 48" by 21" cargo carrier, part number MT70422. This is an all aluminum carrier. It's got a 2" rail all the way around the outside, and has a slat style floor. It's open, closed, and then open all the way across. It does come with the hitch pin. This carrier's designed to hold 500 pounds. more

Today, on our 2010 Toyota Rav4, we'll be taking a look at the CURT 20x60 Cargo Carrier, part number C18150. This carrier is rated for 500 pounds. It's a nice, square-tubular design. It's got an expanded metal bottom to let all your debris fall through. On the side rails, they're about 5 and 3/4 inches high to help keep your cargo intact. Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2013 Toyota RAV4, we have our 23 x 47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier, Part Number M2205. This holds up to 450 pounds. Let's see how much length it adds to our vehicle. In this position, it sticks out about 35 inches, and we have just under 16 inches of ground clearance back here. Our closest point to the vehicle is right about 5-1/2 inches. In this position, we have plenty of places to hook our straps to, and we have these nice big walls to hold our cargo in, but if we're done holding cargo, we can pull these pins and fold it down for our stow position. Now, in our stow position, we have a strap that comes with this that we want to put in place, so that when we fold this up, we don't have our sides flopping back and forth. Just feed this through, and this is a self-tightening strap. more

Curt 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4, we're doing a test fit of the Curt Cargo Carrier, part number 18153. This is a 24 x 60 cargo carrier, can hold up to 500 pounds, see there we already have it on I'll show you a few features. First like to do measurements, so from the bumper closer to our terra rack is 16 inches, overall we've added 42 inches on, and for our ground clearance, it's 13 inches. This made out of a sturdy steel, you see that it has the mesh bottom, so you can easy clean. Holds up to 500 pounds, like I say. On this side of the car, we have our exhaust, that's pretty far, it's 24 inches, so just in case, just remember, when you have any heat-sensitive materials that can come in contact, you may want to move them over. Can get in and out of your hatch as you can see. Let's see where we figure out what worked. more

Detail K2 20x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4 we have our K2 folding cargo carrier, part #K2HCC602. This is a 20x60 cargo carrier. All right lets get some measurements here. First one we will take is the overall length we add, it is about 34 1/2 inches to the back. Our closest point into our vehicle is about 13 1/2 inches. Ground clearance spec here at the back is about 10 1/2 inches and this vehicle only has one exhaust, points down to the ground and is pretty far away, it is about 21 inches, so I wouldn't worry about it too much but just keep that in mind that the exhaust is on this side for your heat sensitive materials. This is a good place if you wanted to get into your vehicle, but we do have to worry about our break-over, that happens about 24 1/2 inches, so if you sack 00:01:13 anything above that just be aware that you may not be able to open your hatch. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota RAV4, we have our Curt, 20 by 60, folding cargo carrier, part number C18151. It's a max capacity of 500 pounds. Let's get some dimensions here. On our Toyota, we have about 34 inches added to the vehicle. Our ground clearance, back here, is about 10 inches to the back, here. Our closest point to the vehicle, right now, is right about 14 inches. Now we do have a singular exhaust. It points to the ground, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. more
